Digital Realty Trust

Digital Realty Trust is a data center public REIT that owns and operates facilities in the United States and Europe. The company provides colocation and interconnection services and develops large multi‑tenant data centers for enterprise and cloud customers.

Its European platform expanded through the combination with Interxion, and through the purchase of European sites divested by Equinix following Equinix’s acquisition of TelecityGroup. The Telx acquisition added a U.S. interconnection and colocation business to Digital Realty’s portfolio.

Digital Realty Trust History:

  • In March 2020 completed the combination with Interxion, expanding its European platform.
  • In September 2017 completed the merger with DuPont Fabros Technology.
  • In July 2016 acquired eight European data centers from Equinix that were divested as part of Equinix’s TelecityGroup acquisition.
  • In October 2015 completed the acquisition of Telx.
  • On October 28, 2004 priced its initial public offering at 12 dollars per share.

Digital Realty Trust Locations

The Digital facility is on 11.28 acres of land and features a 62,000-sq-ft building. The data center is full, with 100% of the space occupied with long-term lease tenants but there is additional land build another 135,000 sq ft facility.

The Westin Building is a Carrier Hotel and the communications hub of the Pacific Northwest. The 34 story building has a conglomeration of colocation providers, carriers, and peering exchanges.

120 E Van Buren is Phoenix's carrier hotel and the building is the best connected in Phoenix.

The building is also home to many colocation operators including AIS, QTS, Sungard, XO

2 Peekay Drive is a purpose-built colocation facility adjacent to 100 Delawanna Avenue. The three-story facility boasts 215,000 sq.ft. of high power density, energy efficient space.

3 Corporate Place contains approximately 135,000 square feet of state-of-the-art data center space and 25,000 square feet of office space. It offers 26 MW of utility power capacity.

Digital Realty plans to develop a two-building data center campus in Forest Park, Clayton County, Georgia, just nine miles south of Atlanta.

This site was originally operated by Dupont Fabros as TOR1 before being acquired in Sept 2017 by Digital Realty Trust in a $7.6 Billion 12 datacenter deal.

Located just outside the city of Toronto in nearby Vaughan, this Canadian wholesale data centre spans over 66,000 square metres (711,000 square feet) with a critical power capacity of up to 46 megawatts. The site was the former Toronto Star Printing plant.

Digital Realty's Paris Digital Park campus features four interconnected data centers in La Courneuve, a district of the French capital.

Digital Realty's FRA33 and FRA34 facilities are situated within Digital's new campus on Kastengrund (known as Digital Park Hattersheim).

This is located in a former World War II submarine base known as Martha. Abandoned for decades, this unusual building was built to be virtually indestructible – its specifications include terraced reinforced concrete to a thickness of 5.5 metres

Located in the Grange Castle data centre cluster, the DUB3 data center offers 59,202 sqft of space and power densities of up to 2kW per square meter, with 4.6MW available for the entire data center.

Digital Realty's 2323 Bryan Street is an internet gateway and carrier facility in Dallas. Located in the Central Business District (CBD), the building consists of 26 floors and approximately 477,000 SF of datacenter, PBB and office space.

Telx (acquired by DRT) operated the building's Meet-Me Room (MMR). The 35,036 sqft MMR is in suite 2440.

The 69-acre Digital Dallas data campus is situated along primary fiber routes and has the unique distinction of having the privately owned, on-site 138kV substation fed from two independent utility substations.

The Digital Realty 100,000sqft data center was built in 2000, renovated in 2008. The site is located near the George Bush Turnpike and North Dallas Tollway and provides an ideal data center location. VAZATA is the largest tenant.

ATH3, located in Koropi alongside ATH1 and ATH2, was part of Digital Realty’s expansion strategy in Greece following the acquisition of Lamda Helix in 2020.

The Fortaleza 1 data center is located next to one of the Northeast region's largest industrial districts. Additionally, this Data Center is directly connected with the landing stations of the submarine cables at Praia do Futuro.

FRA 8 was built in four phases, with each phase providing approximately 900 square meters of equipped space. The facility was commissioned in 2014.

FRA13 was constructed in two phases, providing 4,800 sqm of equipped space. The capital expenditure associated with FRA13 was approximately €90 million.

FRA12 provides approximately 1,100 square meters of equipped space. The capital expenditure associated with FRA12 is approximately €19 million.

FRA14 was constructed in two phases with 5,000 sqm of equipped space. The total capital expenditure associated with FRA14 was €76 million.

FRA15 was built in four phases, providing in total 9,600 square meters of equipped space. The capital expenditure was expected to be around €175 million for the full build-out.

Originally built by a telecom company in 2000, this facility has 13 MW of critical IT load that serves a total of 18 customers who are primarily internet based, financial services, and healthcare related companies.

FRA20, a new data center, is part of the Digital Realty's Digital Park Fechenheim campus in eastern Frankfurt, Germany. This five-level facility will offer approximately 8,140 square meters of white space.

The 11 story, 72m-tall building has 5,000 sq m (54,000 sq ft) of data space on 13 floors, and 9MW of power. The building uses outside air and groundwater for cooling, and also stores warm water underground.

Digital Realty's Hillsboro PDX-10 site was originally constructed by Dupont Fabros before being acquired in Sept 2017 by Digital Realty Trust in a $7.6 Billion 12 datacenter deal.

MC Digital Realty, Digital Realty's joint venture with Mitsubishi Corporation, is developing the third data center at the NRT campus in Inzai, Chiba Prefecture.

Teraco's JB3 facility spans 45,000 square metres of building structure, including 12,000 square metres of data white space.

Latin American data center firm Ascenty plans to build two new data centers in the São Paulo area, named SPO07 and SPO08.

The "Sao Paulo 5" Data Center is currently under construction and will be part of a complex featuring five other mega-units.

Digital Realty’s LKK1 data center in Lagos is a compact facility that spans 260 m² (≈2,800 ft²) and is located at Mopo Onibeju Village, off Ogbombo Road, Lekki.

Located in South Africa, the JB4 facility spans 80,000 sqm (861,110 sq ft) and features 14 data halls which comprise 17,000 sqm (182,985 sq ft) of space.

The building is one of Miami's top interconnection points the building is home to the former Telx bMMR, Equinix MI2 which is a former Switch and Data site, and ColoHouse.

Digital Realty, a US operator, has purchased a 1920s office building in Charlotte, North Carolina, for $9.5 million and plans to demolish it to make way for a new data center.

Located in the heart of downtown Accra, ACR2 is Digital Realty’s flagship carrier-neutral data center and a primary digital gateway for West Africa. The facility offers space for 500 server racks within a secure, two-story building.

Located in the city of Les Ulis, Digital Realty’s PAR13 facility spans 21,700 sqm (233,000 sq ft) and is expected to be joined by an additional building, dubbed PAR14.

Digital Realty's InterXion subsidiary expanded its presence in September 2020 by acquiring local provider Altus IT, thereby taking ownership of the ZAG1 facility.

Digital Realty’s 2.4MW Lisbon facility in Carnaxide, acquired for $8.3M and expected to be online in 2027, serves as a subsea-connected interconnection node near the Carcavelos cable landings, supporting its Southern Europe expansion strategy.

Digital Realty's Erskine Park 1 (SYD10) is located at 1-11 Templar Road in Erskine Park. The building houses four Digital Realty Turn-Key Flex areas within its 8,010 sq. m. of capacity.

Located within an established data centre hub to the north west of Frankfurt, Digital Frankfurt – Wilhelm Fay Strasse provides a campus of 3 buildings, totaling 180,000 sqft. of net technical space. Each building provides 6 data suites of 10,000 sqft (Net space), together with 60,000 sq. ft. of ancillary space including dedicated offices, de-box rooms, test rooms and dedicated plant areas.

Digital Realty's Project Gold is located on Edmonds Lane in Lewisville. The project consists of a single-story shell data center with space for three data halls on a 182,969 sq ft (17,000 sqm) site.

Digital Realty seeks 10-year permission to build two data center buildings, known as DUB15 and DUB16, next to the company’s existing facilities on Profile Park’s Nangor Road, Clondalkin.

Located within easy access of Dublin Airport, via city’s many transport links, Digital Realty’s Clonshaugh data centers (DUB11 and DUB12) provide 10,219m2(110,000f 2) of highly-connected premium customer space.

Digital Realty's Erskine Park 2 data center (SYD11) is located adjacent to Erskine Park 1. Phase one, delivered in 2019, provides 86,327 sq ft of space, with a second phase planned.

TELEPOINT Sofia Centre, operated by Telepoint OOD, is a carrier-neutral data center located in Sofia, occupying a building footprint of 5,403 sq ft.

Digital Realty acquired a 5-acre land parcel in Seoul in 2021, with initial plans to develop a 64MW data center slated for completion in 2023.

TELEPOINT's largest data center, encompassing over 9,000 sq m, is strategically located in Sofia's Druzhba district, between Sofia Airport and Megapark.

Digital Connexion's first greenfield data center in India, MAA10, located in Chennai's Ambattur Industrial Estate, serves as a strategic connectivity hub for Southeast Asia.

In 2018, Interxion (now Digital Realty) expanded its FRA6 data center in Frankfurt, Germany, by 400 sqm at a cost of €5 million.

Located near Highway 101, 3205 Alfred is a two-story data center. The facility is strategically located near three cost-effective substations on the power grids of Silicon Valley Power.

The redevelopment project, initiated by the Grand Port Maritime de Marseille (GPMM) in December 2021, will result in a 12,000 sqm (129,165 sq ft) data center with a PUE of 1.3.

Digital Realty owns the 10 acre site at Profile Park and will have access to both power and fiber. The company has secured planning approval to construct 193,384 gross sq ft in two phases and over four buildings.

Located in the epicenter of North Dallas' high-technology corridor on the 69-acre Digital Dallas campus, this facility offers over 100,000 square feet of space and connectivity to more than 60 network service providers.

Digital Realty PDX12 Data Center is located at 5870 Northeast Schaaf Street, Hillsboro, OR 97124, USA. The data has a Total building size of 560,000 sqft (52,025 sqm). It has access to 32 MW of power with N+1 UPS redundancy

Digital Realty has filed to expand its planned data center campus in the Garland area of Dallas, Texas. The company is planning to construct a 410,000 sq ft (38090 sqm) data center building comprised of a tenant office and six data halls.

7401 E. Ben White Blvd. is a three-building portfolio comprised of two single-story data centers and one single-story call center, which are located in southeast Austin.

Digital Realty’s Oregon data center, referred to as PDX11, is a 553,000 square-foot, two-story LEED-Silver certified data center that was designed and constructed to be highly energy efficient and water-wise.

Strategically located in a fiber-rich district and directly adjacent to PG&E substation, the facility is four blocks from Jack London Square and proximate to the central business district of Oakland.

The building has 75,000 gross square feet with a 30-foot clearance height capable of supporting two floors inside the building. The site has diverse underground electrical ductbanks from a nearby substations. The facility offers access to seven fiber optic providers in close proximity to the building

InterXion's MRS1 (previously known as SFR Netcentre) datacenter has access to eight undersea cables that terminate in Marseille, that provide access to the African and Asian markets
