Digital Realty plans to expand its campus near the Swiss capital with a fourth building. The new facility, designated ZUR4, will be located on the municipal border between Rümlang and Opfikon. It's expected to be comparable in size to the existing ZUR2 building, which covers 6,300 sqm (67,800 sq ft).

  • The construction of ZUR4 is slated to begin in either 2024 or 2025. While initial cost estimates were around 65 million francs ($72.2m), Digital Realty intends to revise this figure.
  • As part of its sustainability efforts, Digital Realty aims to connect the new facility to a district heating network. This network is currently being developed through a collaboration between Energie Opfikon AG and the Elektra Baselland cooperative (EBL).
