Telehouse: 151 Front Street West

Telehouse Canada operates three data centres in downtown Toronto, connected by a dark fibre network, enabling interconnections to a diverse network of 200+ carriers, ISPs and ASPs and fast, efficient access to key North American markets.

151 Front Street West is Canada’s largest colocation facility and the most important carrier hotel. It is conveniently located next to Union Station with easy access to Toronto’s subway streetcar systems, as well as the GO Transit Union Station Bus Terminal. This Tier 3 data centre provides access to the Toronto Internet Exchange (TorIX) and offers fast, efficient connections to the city’s financial district. 151 Front Street West provides access to a large ecosystem of carriers, ideal for cloud, hosting and large carrier networks.

Telehouse entered the Canadian market with the acquisition of three Toronto data centers from Allied Properties REIT. The purchase was announced by Telehouse's parent company, KDDI.

• Allied bought 151 Front St. West for $192 million in 2009;
• 151 Front Street previously changed hands in January 2004, when an investment group led by Northam Realty Advisors purchased the building from Trizec Properties for $59 million. The site was built in 1954 to house telegraph equipment and operated as a mixed-use facility until it was bought by Trizec in 1997 and redeveloped for modern telecom use.
