Cologix Inc. is a network-neutral interconnection and colocation data center company headquartered in Denver. Cologix provides data center and interconnection solutions from 25 prime interconnection locations across 9 strategic North American edge markets. Cologix has over 1,600 customers.

Cologix History

Operational since December 2010, Cologix has completed nine acquisitions and announced six new market expansions:

  • Acquisition: The Dallas INFOMART data center suite from NaviSite
  • Acquisition: Canix Colo located in Montreal, Canada
  • Acquisition: Telehouse Centre Canada, located in Toronto and Vancouver, Canada
  • Acquisition: Standard Connections, located in Toronto, Canada
  • Acquisition: The Minnesota Gateway, located in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
  • Acquisition: Carrier Connex, located in Toronto, Canada
  • Expansion: 12,000 SQF expansion in the Dallas INFOMART building in Dallas, Texas
  • Expansion: 20,000 SQF expansion in 905 King Street West in downtown Toronto, Ontario
  • Expansion: 26,000 SQF expansion in 1155 University Street in downtown Montreal, Quebec
  • Expansion: 15,000 SQF expansion in 1050 West Pender in downtown Vancouver, British Columbia
  • Acquisition: JAX Meet-Me-ME Room located in 421 West Church Street in Jacksonville, Florida
  • Expansion: 28,000 SQF expansion in 511 11th Avenue South in downtown Minneapolis, Minnesota
  • 2014 Acquisition: DataCenter.BZ located in Columbus, Ohio
  • Expansion: 2.7 acres land acquisition in Columbus, Ohio immediately adjacent to existing 5-acre data center campus
  • Sept 2014 Acquisition: Colo5 data centers in Jacksonville and Lakeland, Florida
  • Oct 2015 Net Access (NAC) acquisition added 3 data centers and 1 disaster recovery center in New Jersey.
  • June 2018 Bill Fathers replaced Grant van Rooyen as Cologix CEO

Cologix Locations

  • Cologix's Minnesota's 5 data halls are located within the 511 carrier hotel. The 511 11th Avenue Building, located across the street from the Metrodome (home of the Minnesota Vikings) was under threat of being torn down to make room for a new stadium, but the building was saved
  • MIN1 is the Building's MMR

The PCCS and AMX-1 subsea cable systems have points of presence (PoPs) at Cologix’s JAX 1 data center, connecting the facility to 19 cable landing points across 10 countries, or 23,500 km of fiber optic subsea cable

Cologix’s second Toronto data centre site at 905 King Street (TOR 2) was built using standards for concurrent maintainability for space, power, mechanical systems and security. The TOR 2 data centre can be utilized as a stand-alone, diverse bypass facility to Cologix's TOR 1 data centre at 151 Front Street.

  • In Sept of 2014, Cologix acquired Colo5 which added JAX1, JAX2, and LAX1 to Cologix's portfolio
  • Hurricane Rating: Category 5 hurricane rated building with a roof rated to 170+ mph sustained winds

The site was acquired when Cologix bought Net Access in October of 2015. It was previously known as Net Access's Parsippany I data center.

Close to downtown Toronto in Markham, the Scalelogix TOR4-S data center has diverse dark fiber connectivity between TOR4-S and TOR1 at 151 Front Street

COLO-D2, located in Longueuil, offers a floor space of more than 180,000 sqft with a capacity of over 35 megawatts. Located less than 10 km from downtown Montreal

VAN 2 is blocks away from and connected by a dark fiber ring to the city’s primary carrier hotel at the Harbour Centre,

  • COL1 (32,000sqft) and COL2 (20,000sqft) represent 2 phases of buildout in the same building.
  • Cologix entered the Columbus market in February of 2014 through an acquisition of DataCenter.BZ

Cologix operates seven discrete Toronto data centres at 151 Front Street West (TOR 1), Canada’s largest and most important carrier hotel.

Cologix is planning to construct three data centers totaling nearly 1 million square feet across 22.6 acres at Beaumeade Corporate Park in Ashburn. The company bought the site for $38 million, or $1.68 million per acre, from the Christian Fellowship Church in July 2018.

Located on Nun’s Island (Île des Sœurs) in Montréal, Québec, the purpose-built MTL2 colocation facility is one of seven Cologix data centres throughout Montréal, spanning approximately 100,000 SQF and including Montréal’s only carrier hotel.

The site was acquired when Cologix bought Net Access in October of 2015. It was previously known as "Net Access Cedar Knolls".

US data center firm Cologix acquired this data center from local operator DataHive in 2025.The data center is situated within a 21-story building constructed in 1979.

DSM1 occupies 4,000 square feet of space and enables connectivity to 26 unique networks in the Cologix Meet-Me-Room with direct access to the DesMoinesIX internet exchange.

The site was previously a "Metro Optic" site. Metro Optic acquired the I.C.E Montreal facility, but subsequently sold it to Cologix.

The DSM2 digital edge data center, spanning 12,500 square feet, is situated in the Cedar Valley region of Cedar Falls, Iowa.

Cologix is building COL4, a 256,000 square foot data center on 9 acres along Alta View and Worthington Woods boulevards in Ohio. This facility will offer 27 MW of capacity.

DAL2 is a 12,000-square-foot facility located in the Infomart building at 1950 North Stemmons Freeway. Cologix opened its second site at the Dallas Infomart in 2013.

DAL3 is a 13.2K SQFT facility located in the renowned Infomart building at 1950 North Stemmons Freeway.

Cologix offers secure Montréal data centre and colocation services in the purpose-built facility at 2341 Alfred Nobel
