Following a year-long application process, Apple Valley city officials have rejected Oppidan and Rockport LLC’s proposal for a massive data center campus outside Minneapolis.
The project, dubbed the Apple Valley Technology Park, was slated to span 134 acres and connect data center facilities across 1.05 million square feet, but faced persistent regulatory hurdles, including a failed comprehensive plan amendment and a withdrawn rezoning application. Despite Oppidan's extensive footprint across markets like Chicago, Reno, and nearby Eagan, the city council voted decisively in March 2026, to deny the necessary site plans and permits, putting a firm end to the project.
