Townsite Solar 2 (TS2), a Skylar Capital subsidiary developing in partnership with Arevon Energy and Overwatch Capital, is relocating its planned high-density AI data center campus outside Las Vegas from municipal land to federal jurisdiction.
Following community opposition and a recommendation from the Boulder City planning commission against permitting data centers on the city's 88.5-acre parcel, TS2 withdrew its municipal application. The developer is instead advancing the multi-building facility on an adjacent 80-acre plot managed by the U.S. Bureau of Land Management (BLM), leveraging an approved amendment to its existing solar right-of-way grant to permit data center operations despite potential legal appeals from Boulder City.
