The facility was known as "ROOT Montreal MTL-R2" before being acquired by Compass Datacenters in 2019.
ROOT's MTL-R2 currently supports 20MW of power, but when fully built, the site will host 50MW of total capacity and will be one of Canada’s largest wholesale data centers.
ROOT specializes in high power density solutions. "KyotoCooling systems" and hot aisle containment
help drive a PUE as low as 1.15.
