SoftBank Corp. has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Sharp Corporation to construct a data center at Sharp's LCD panel plant in Sakai City, Osaka Prefecture. The planned facility will have a total floor area of 750,000 square meters, utilizing about 60% of the Sharp Sakai Plant's total land area of approximately 440,000 square meters. SoftBank aims to begin full-scale operations in 2025, with plans to expand the data center's power capacity in the future.
