QTS, a Blackstone-owned firm, is expanding its data center footprint in the Kansas City area. The company has leased a substantial 756,000 square foot (70,234 sqm) facility, identified as Building B1, within the New Century Commerce Center (NCCC) in New Century, Kansas. This location in Johnson County places the future data center roughly 25 miles southwest of Kansas City.
The newly constructed building, completed in 2023 by Van Trust Real Estate LLC, will be transformed into a state-of-the-art data center, although specific details regarding its specifications have not yet been disclosed. The NCCC itself is envisioned as a significant regional industrial park, benefiting from its strategic adjacency to the New Century Airfield, which provides valuable logistical benefits.
