20MW Data Center Project Proposed in Parsons, Kansas

Jul 09, 2026 | Posted by Abdul-Rahman Oladimeji

A 20MW data center project could be developed in Parsons, Kansas, after the city approved a purchase option agreement with HyperDataGrid.
The company is seeking to acquire around 20 acres in Tolen Creek Industrial Park for the proposed facility. The agreement allows HyperDataGrid to complete due diligence, while construction would require further approval. Parsons is located in Labette County in southeast Kansas, about 55 miles northwest of Joplin, Missouri.

HyperDataGrid said it plans to maintain open communication with Parsons officials and residents as it develops the project. The Texas-based company specializes in high-density liquid-cooled data centers using direct-to-chip cooling, with facilities designed to support up to 600kW per rack. The company says its 20MW facilities can be delivered within 12 months and currently lists two additional planned developments in Texas, though details remain limited.

“We are excited about the opportunity to come to Parsons. We look forward to working alongside the City, its residents, and community leaders to help advance their goals and to prove ourselves as a committed civic partner," Josh May of HyperDataGrid said in the June announcement.parson_kansas_hyper_data_grid.width-358.webp
