The Lumen 8923 Complex Drive facility is a compact, carrier-neutral data center located in the Kearny Mesa area of San Diego. This facility serves as Lumen's secondary San Diego location, offering colocation services with a focus on connectivity and network services. The data center is strategically positioned in San Diego's established telecommunications corridor.
Originally operated by Level 3 Communications, this facility became part of Lumen Technologies following CenturyLink's $34 billion acquisition of Level 3 Communications, which was announced in October 2016 and completed on November 1, 2017. CenturyLink later rebranded to Lumen Technologies in September 2020.
Located in Kearny Mesa, this smaller-format data center serves as Lumen's secondary San Diego facility, complementing their larger regional presence. The facility focuses on network connectivity and carrier services, leveraging Lumen's extensive fiber network infrastructure. It caters to businesses requiring reliable connectivity with carrier-grade network services in the San Diego market.
