DC Blox: Thunderbird Commerce Center, Indianapolis, Indiana

Site planned for 2028 and has expansions through 2030

DC Blox filed a variance of use petition with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Development Commission in March 2026 to develop a three-building data center campus on one parcel within the 150-acre Thunderbird Commerce Center, a former Ford Visteon automotive manufacturing site that closed in 2007 and was demolished in 2017. The campus is planned in two phases, with a single-story first building of 80,000 sq ft and two larger two-story buildings totaling 330,000 sq ft to follow. DC Blox has committed to funding all new substation and generation infrastructure costs and will use closed-loop cooling. A public hearing before the MDC is scheduled for May 14, 2026.
