NEO-01 is building 1 of 4 on Aligned Data Centers' Northeast Ohio campus, a 129-acre former industrial brownfield in Perkins Township, south of Sandusky. The first phase of the building went live in January 2026, and Aligned expects to finish the building in the second half of 2027. FirstEnergy is building a new 345/138 kV substation on the campus to serve it, with construction running from August 2026 through 2027. Aligned committed at least $202 million to the first phase. Its clients have not been named.

August 2026: FirstEnergy began building the Sandusky South substation for the campus.
January 2026: The first phase went live (Sandusky Register).
May 2024: Aligned broke ground (DCD).
December 2023: Perkins Township approved tax increment financing for the project.
September 2023: Aligned announced the campus, and Ohio approved a data center sales-tax exemption for it (Aligned).
