The Quantum Frederick Project, a 2,100-acre data center campus and fiber optic loop (QLoop) in Frederick County, Maryland, was first announced by TPG Real Estate and Quantum Loophole in 2021. The $5 billion project was marred by delays and controversy. In September 2024, TPG sought a court order to remove Quantum Loophole as project manager, effectively ending their partnership. Quantum Loophole will no longer have any active involvement, with TPG Real Estate taking full control of the project.
