IonQ unveils two rack-mounted quantum solutions

Oct 04, 2023 | Posted by Abdul-Rahman Oladimeji

A leading quantum computing firm, IonQ has announced plans for two rack-mounted solutions that introduce quantum capabilities to existing infrastructures: IonQ Forte Enterprise and IonQ Tempo. These solutions are mainly to help businesses leverage the power of quantum directly from their own data centers, ultimately increasing the technology’s accessibility.

Both solutions are designed for businesses and governments wanting to integrate quantum capabilities within their existing infrastructure. The IonQ Forte Enterprise is specifically designed for complex computational problems, including process optimization, quantum machine learning, correlation analysis, and pattern recognition. On the other hand, the IonQ Tempo functions for the most demanding use cases as it offers a computational space 536 million times larger than the IonQ Forte Enterprise. IonQ Tempo is expected to be released in 2025.

Peter Chapman, CEO and president of IonQ, said, “We are fast approaching the point where quantum computers will become the default toolset for tackling the world’s most challenging problems. IonQ is leading the charge in making sure our systems are available so enterprise companies can prepare for that moment now.”

There are 45 data centers in Maryland.
