This brownfield site, formerly the Pressed Steel Car Company McKees Rocks Works Plant, received $6 million in state funding for remediation and was initially planned as a logistics park.
The project's current focus is securing the necessary zoning change, as data centers are not presently permitted in the township's general industrial district. The Stowe Township Board of Commissioners is considering an amendment, and the result of the zoning vote is the critical next step. The development faces community concerns over high resource consumption and environmental impact.
