DigitalBridge-owned AIMS has finalized a RM4 billion ($1.01 billion) investment to develop a new AI-ready data center in Cyberjaya, Malaysia.
AIMS Data Centre began constructing its Cyberjaya facility in the third quarter of 2020.
In 2024, Malaysia’s AIMS completed a phase 2 expansion of its Cyberjaya campus and announced plans for a third phase expansion.
The AIMS carrier neutral data centre is situated in Telstra’s Paya Lebar Data Centre (SGCS 2) and is part of the Pacnet Enabled Network (PEN), the first Pan-Asia Network-as-a-Service (NaaS) architecture
The office building (which contains the data centre) is centrally located at the heart of the Penang Cybercity business district, Bayan Baru.
AIMS Group, owned by DigitalBridge, expanded its Malaysian footprint in 2024 with the launch of Bangunan AIMS (also known as KL2) in Kuala Lumpur.
