In August 2026, Stillwater Development voluntarily withdrew its application for the Stillwater Technology Park data center project in Lovejoy, Georgia, following intense community pushback regarding water consumption and proximity to local schools.

Prior to its cancellation, the $13 billion proposal at was planned as a 400-acre, gigawatt-scale campus featuring up to 15 buildings totaling 3.465 million square feet and supported by a 1.25 GW power connection from Central Georgia EMC. The multi-phase project had originally aimed to deliver its first operational phase by 2031, but with the data center application now formally rescinded, the developer intends to pivot the property back to a residential development.
