The project in Milwaukee is an adaptive reuse master plan transforming a vacant, 160,000 sqft former Walmart into a mixed-use commercial and community hub.

Developed by AFS Milwaukee LLC and Gorman & Company in partnership with the city, the site will feature a 108,000 sqft self-storage facility alongside a specialized 19,000 sqft high-performance computing (HPC) research and data processing center. This small-scale data facility will utilize a sustainable, closed-loop glycol cooling system to eliminate local water waste. To integrate the development into the neighborhood, the project also incorporates a new 17,000 sqft Milwaukee Public Library branch, city offices, and a multi-phase residential development called Midtown Commons, which will bring 200 affordable workforce housing units to the former surface parking lot.
