Following the acquisition of Global Switch Australia by HMC Capital in late 2024 for $1.94 billion, the facility has been integrated into the DigiCo Infrastructure REIT, marking its official transition from the Global Switch legacy brand to the new DigiCo SYD1 identity.

The SYD1 campus is located on the western edge of Sydney's Central Business District, positioning it strategically near Australia's financial and commercial hub. Situated in the Ultimo area, this massive facility consists of two adjacent conjoined buildings, known as East and West. The campus occupies an impressive 72,575 square meters of space.

  • The six-story Sydney East was built in the mid to late 2010s and is located at 273 Pyrmont Street.

Update

In 2024, the company filed with New South Wales planning authorities for the expansion of its existing data center buildings. The plans include adding two additional levels and converting existing floor space into plant and electrical areas. This project will result in an increased building height of 12m and an increase in power consumption by 47.5MW.
