DAMAC: Midwest Digital Gateway MDG1

Short Code: MDG1
Site planned for 2028 and has expansions through 2032
Lot Size: 162 acres

Originally developed and marketed by Active Infrastructure in partnership with commercial real estate firm JLL, the Midwest Digital Gateway is a two-campus hyperscale development in Canton, Ohio. The land was acquired by DAMAC Digital Solution Ohio in December 2025, and DAMAC is now the expected developer moving the project forward.

The MDG1 campus encompasses 162 acres and is the larger of the two sites. Local authorities have already completed annexation and rezoning for the property, clearing the path for development. The initial phase is structured to deliver power within a 24-month timeline from project launch, before scaling to full campus capacity.
Utility infrastructure includes a secured water supply of over 5 MGD, though the city's water department has flagged additional extension costs that will need to be negotiated directly with DAMAC as the new owner. The development also operates under a long-term tax incentive framework established through an executed Memorandum of Understanding with the City of Canton.

Key changes mirror the MDG2 update — DAMAC introduced as current owner, and the utility negotiation note is woven in to reflect the current situation on the ground.
