The data center arm of UAE property conglomerate Damac has said it plans to achieve an IT capacity landbank of 6GW across 13 countries and more than 35 sites. The Dubai-based firm said it is expanding in North America, Europe, Asia and the Middle East driven by an increasing demand for AI, cloud computing and digital infrastructure.

Damac Digital said it has commenced construction on ten new data center sites over the past five months, with eight expected to be operational by year-end. The company aims to have more than 700MW of operational capacity across 14 facilities by the first quarter of 2027, rising to 2GW by the end of the first quarter of 2028. Damac Digital also said it employs more than 600 people across three continents, spanning design, procurement, construction, operations, and other support functions.

Damac Digital said it already has operational capacity in Saudi Arabia and Thailand, while expanding across Europe, including Spain, Italy, Greece, Turkey, and the Nordic region. The company also recently acquired Finnish developer Hyperco and is growing its presence in Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, and the Philippines. Founded in 2021 by Hussain Sajwani, Damac Digital said more than 90 percent of its data centers are equipped with liquid-cooling infrastructure to support high-density AI and cloud workloads.edgnex.width-358.webp
