The first radio mast for television (Nederland 1) was erected in Hilversum in 1951. This was later replaced in 1973 by a new mast on the Witte Kruislaan. In 2011, the tower was christened the ‘Man Bijt Hond’ television tower, followed by its official opening at the start of the 2013 television season.
