Black Mountain Power, a subsidiary of the energy-focused Black Mountain family of companies, is transforming 432 acres in San Antonio into a massive "hyperscale-ready" data center campus. Located at the intersection of State Highway 16 and Lone Star Pass, the site was acquired from Ballard Exploration Co. through a $64.5 million seller-financed deal.
This project is a cornerstone of the company’s "Texas powered-land strategy," which leverages its deep roots in oil, gas, and grid infrastructure to provide shovel-ready sites for tech giants. By securing high-voltage power access and critical interconnections ahead of construction, Black Mountain aims to bypass traditional utility delays and meet the skyrocketing demand for AI and cloud computing infrastructure across the Lone Star State.
