Facebook has announced their ninth data center on the Prineville, Oregon campus. The building will be 450,000 sqft and be completed in 2023. Rendering of the 9th data center accompanied the announcement
Established in 1868, Prineville is the oldest community in Central Oregon and one of Oregon’s first incorporated cities. Prineville’s economic origins are tied to the land in agriculture, forest products,
the railroad, and manufacturing.
Both Apple and Facebook have data centers located in Crook County. The large content companies were attracted by the low cost of electric and tax abatements.
Prineville is well prepared with infrastructure in place for water and wastewater to support growth and development.
