Ark Data Centres is proposing a £250 million expansion of its Spring Park campus in Wiltshire, UK, on an 18-acre site known as "Donkey Field." The planned facility—the seventh on the campus—will stand 18.7 meters (61 feet) tall and span approximately 180 meters (600 feet) in length, situated as close as 44 meters (144 feet) to the nearest residential property.

While the project has drawn nearly 1,100 public objections regarding visual impact and flood risks, the development is projected to create 87 new jobs, provide a £98 million boost to the local economy, and generate £4 million in annual business rates. Following the July 30 consultation deadline, Wiltshire Council’s planning department has recommended approval for the project, which is scheduled for a committee decision on December 16.
