UK DWP signs £27 million contract extension with Ark Data Centers

The UK Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) has extended its contract with Ark Data Centers for £27 million ($38.1 million). The contract starts in June 2021 and would run till May 2026. Also, this deal will see DWP continue to occupy four 760kW dedicated data halls in Ark Data Center’s facilities.

Moreover, the DWP and Ark Data Centers’ contract has been running since 2015, and it has been worth approximately £500 million ($707 million).

Furthermore, the DWP said that it has a strategy to increase its footprint in the cloud, yet, it would be keeping some of its applications in the data center. It further added that the facility is a critical strategic necessity for the conceivable future.

Ark Data Centres (UK) has 16 sites.
