Standard Power: Beaver Valley

Ownership: Standard Power does not own the building.

Standard Power, a blockchain company, has partnered with Vistra Corp. to construct a large-scale, carbon-free data center adjacent to the Beaver Valley nuclear power plant in Shippingport, Pennsylvania. The partnership was formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) originally signed with Energy Harbor Corp., which was acquired by Vistra Corp. in March 2024, making Vistra the owner of the Beaver Valley Power Station and the new collaborator in this initiative.

In the first phase, Standard Power has committed to a 10-year agreement to purchase 200–300 MW of electricity and capacity directly from the Beaver Valley nuclear facility at a fixed price. Phase 1 was initially planned to be operational in 2023 and 2024. Future phases have the potential to scale up to 900 MW of capacity.
