Rocky View Technology Park

Lot Size: 1,112 acres

The proposed Rocky View Technology Park, a large data center and power plant campus near Calgary, was rejected by Rocky View County councillors in September 2025. The project, championed by Kineticor Asset Management, sought to rezone 450 hectares of prime agricultural land for a 900MW facility.

The rejection was based on strong opposition regarding the loss of farmland, high consumption of water and electricity, overall environmental impact, and concerns over the transparency and speed of the planning process.
