KALiNA: Lone Pine Energy & Data Park

Year Built: 2026

Kalina Distributed Power, the Canadian subsidiary of Australia’s Kalina Power, has officially withdrawn its proposal for the Lone Pine Energy Centre near Airdrie, Alberta.

The project, which was to feature a data center paired with a 200MW gas fired power plant, faced strong local community opposition, prompting Kalina to pull its land use redistricting preapplication from Rocky View County in April 2026. While plans for this specific site have been canceled, the company is consulting with county officials to explore alternative locations as it advances a broader 2GW portfolio of gas powered, carbon capture ready energy projects across the province.
