SHINSEI MALAYSIA 1™ was originally planned for construction in three stages over three years (2021-2023). However, due to the pandemic, construction only began in Q2 2022. Upon completion, SHINSEI MALAYSIA 1™ will have 120,000 square feet of net hosting space and will operate as a wholesale data center serving several Japanese anchor tenants. The facility is designed as a Tier IV green mega data center with capacity for 4,064 racks.

Regal Orion is a Malaysian company incorporated on 19 October, 2017 owned by Japanese IT specialist investors. RO bought over the data center project located at Teckpark @Enstek, Labu, Seremban, Negeri Sembilan, Malaysia on “as-is where-is” basis from KPMG acting as receiver & manager for Affin Bank Berhad on 2 march, 2018.

Upon its taking over, RO engaged awards winning international consultants and contractors to re-design and upgrade the facility aimed at turning the facility into a world premium Tier IV next generation green mega data center facilities with a total investment costs of RM 1.20 billion (approximately USD300 million).
