A proposal to build Project Triton, a data center, at a former mine in Norton City, Ohio, was canceled following strong opposition from local community groups. The developer, Quantum HPC, had planned a 485,000-square-foot center and a 157,000-square-foot power yard with six natural gas turbines on the 90-acre site off South Cleveland-Massillon Road. The property was the former PPG Industries limestone mine, which closed about 50 years ago.
