Magna PFV, a construction affiliate of South Korean conglomerate GS Group, has secured final approval for its data center project in Goyang City's Deok-i-dong district. The approval in November 2024 marks the end of an 18-month period filled with regulatory reversals, during which the project faced approval, near-cancellation, rejection, and eventual reinstatement.

The project originally received its building permit in March 2023, with plans for a five-story facility spanning 16,945 square meters (182,394 square feet). However, construction plans were halted when local residents protested, claiming they weren't adequately informed about the proposed data center development.
