South Korean conglomerate LG will invest an additional 1.3 trillion won ($910 million) in its 200MW data center project in Paju, located about 19 miles (31km) north of Seoul, according to local reports. The new investment more than doubles LG’s previous commitment of 615.6 billion won ($441.7 million) announced for the project in May 2025.
Plans for the 73,710 sqm (793,410 sq ft) data center date back to May 2024, when LG announced plans to acquire land and buildings in Paju from LG Display for the project.
LG’s telecom arm LG U+ is developing the campus, which is expected to be completed by 2027 and eventually support more than 100,000 servers. LG U+ currently operates ten data centers across South Korea, including four colocation facilities in Seoul and sites in Ayang, Daejeon, Jeonju, Gwangju, Daegu, and Busan.
