- Update: UK data center firm Latos has secured full planning approval for a £100 million ($134.9m) data center development in Stockton-on-Tees, County Durham.
UK data center firm Latos is planning a new "Neura Data Centre" campus in Stockton-on-Tees, just outside Middlesbrough. The development, situated on a 1.85-acre vacant site within the Preston Farm Industrial Estate, will comprise two buildings (DC 01 and 02) totaling 1,725 sqm (18,595 sq ft), each housing a large data hall, along with two dedicated electricity substations.
These "Neura Data Centres" are designed specifically for high-speed computing and real-time AI applications, aiming to integrate seamlessly into environments demanding significant processing power. Latos emphasizes their ability to deliver enterprise-grade performance without extensive physical footprint, allowing intelligent systems to operate closer to the source of data and insights. Notably, these facilities can offer an average of 80kW per rack, with the capacity to scale up to 300kW, highlighting their high-density capabilities for demanding AI workloads.
