In 2021, Equinix launched its PE3 data center in Perth, Australia. The facility is the company’s third IBX facility in the city. The first phase offers capacity for around 700 cabinets across 1,830 sqm (38,600 sq tf). Equinix said it invested US$54 million (A$71.7 million) for phase one.
The company first announced plans for PE3 in November 2020. When fully built-out, the data center will offer 1,650 cabinets across more than 10,600 sqm (114,200 sq ft).
