CDC Data Centres has received the green light to proceed with a major AU$415 million ($270.2 million USD) project in Maddington, Perth.

The company, also known as Canberra Data Centres, is preparing to build what will be Western Australia’s largest AI and advanced technology data centre campus. The initial AU$415 million investment is for the first stage of development, located 20 kilometres south-east of central Perth.

This new campus is designed to deliver high-density capacity, with a focus on advanced cooling technology. Notably, the centre will offer support for liquid cooling and utilize CDC’s proprietary closed-loop system for primary cooling, which features zero water consumption. The site is expected to be operational in 2026.
