Beacon: Calvert Infrastructure Hub

Site planned for 2027 and has expansions through 2029
Lot Size: 95 acres

Canadian developer Beacon Data Centers has committed $6 billion to build the Calvert Infrastructure Hub on a 650-acre tract in northern Mobile County, Alabama. Designed specifically for AI, cloud computing, and digital services, the two-building campus will occupy 95 acres off Highway 43, leaving the remaining 555 acres as a forested buffer.

The facility features a sustainable design that completely eliminates backup diesel generators to prevent local noise and emissions, opting instead for a closed-loop water cooling system to protect local aquifers. Sourced via Alabama Power and targeting a 2027 completion date for its first phase, the project is expected to create 1,000 construction jobs and up to 250 permanent operations roles.
