The DC BLOX data center is built on the 27-acre, former Trinity Steel site in downtown Birmingham. The facility can be expanded up to 200,000 square feet and 80 MW.
DC BLOX's Huntsville facility's initial phase cost $13 million. It was commissioned in mid-2018.
Facebook's $750 million datacenter project in Huntsville was previously known by the codename “Starbelt.” The data center will be located in the North Huntsville Industrial Park and was expected to launch in 2020, but was delayed until late 2021.
