The Colt data center is located in the Zona Franca district of Barcelona. The Data Center - also known as Barcelona Steel - consists of 2 terraced buildings called Steel 1 and Steel 2.

In 2001, the existing 8,000 sqM industrial building was retrofitted for the data center.

In 2006, the second phase was carried out, consisting of the expansion of the Node Room of the Steel 1 building. 440 m2 were enlarged, of which 300 m2 were fully equipped and 140 m2 were reserved.

In 2008, a third phase took place, in which due to the growing demand for services the Steel 2 building was remodeled; even reinforcing it structurally to withstand the overload of the weight of the racks and the associated electromechanical installations. The second floor was also completely renovated to accommodate 535 racks in a 1,260 m2 room.

Finally, between 2012 and 2013, the fourth phase took place. The Steel Node Room 2 was completed to full capacity.
