Agincourt: Valparaiso, IN

• Update: The Valparaiso data center proposal has been withdrawn due to significant public opposition voiced at a City Council meeting. Residents raised concerns about noise, resource consumption, property values, potential health impacts, and a lack of transparency regarding the land's intended use. Following this strong negative feedback, the city ceased exploring the project, and the developer withdrew their interest.

Agincourt Investments LLC is considering the development of a data center in Valparaiso, the county seat of Porter County in northwest Indiana, located approximately 50 miles southeast of Chicago and 15 miles from Lake Michigan's shore.

Although Agincourt has not yet presented any proposals to the Valparaiso planning commission or city council, the envisioned project would consist of four two-story buildings, each with an area of 157,000 square feet (14,585 square meters).

The 249-acre property was originally purchased by the city under former Mayor Matt Murphy's initiative to create a sports complex featuring seven fields, with funding intended from the American Rescue Plan. However, due to unexpectedly high costs, the current administration abandoned the project in 2024.
