Yondr Group has announced that it is developing a 200MW hyperscale data center campus in Johor, Malaysia. The company revealed that it would be developing the facility on 72.8 acres of land in Sedenak Tech Park, Johor. The facility’s first phase is expected to be delivered in 2024. The CEO of Yondr Group, Dave Newitt, said Malaysia is an important part of the company’s expansion plans in the Southeast Asian region. He added that securing space in Sedenak Tech Park complements the company’s presence in Jakarta. Newitt further noted that Johor is close to critical data center metros including Jakarta and Singapore which allows valuable interconnectivity routes.
Yondr acquired the land from TPM Technopark Sdn Bhd. The Chairman of TPM Technopark, Akmal Ahmad, said the company values Yondr’s decision to invest in the park. He added that this shows that the park can be a world-class data center hub in the region.
