Montreal: Wiz announces opening of Montreal data center

Wiz has announced the launch of its new cloud data center in Montreal, Canada. The facility is to provide local and multinational organizations with faster, and more secure cloud security infrastructure and is also pegged to provide greater data sovereignty, while maintaining privacy requirements. The expansion comes after a US$300 million capital raise.

Speaking about the expansion in Canada, Raaz Herzberg, the company's vice president of strategy, said that opening a data center in Montreal ensures high performance, and means that its  Canadian customers can keep all of their data in the Canadian region

 

Meanwhile, Derek Browne, CISO, Northbridge Financial Corporation, one of Wiz's Canadian partners, said: "Wiz's new data center demonstrates the company's ongoing commitment to providing reliable cloud solutions to Canadian businesses and is a major boost for our expanding cloud requirements." 

Adding: "As we generate and manage a larger amount of data, cloud security remains a top priority, and we have confidence that Wiz will continually deliver optimal solutions to meet our needs."

Rob Masse, Partner, National Leader for Cloud Security, Deloitte Canada, commented that the new data center in Canada, will ensure organizations can get the "full benefit" of Wiz's solutions closer to home. "Together, Deloitte and Wiz will help Canadian organizations transform how they operate in the cloud," Masse said.
