Plans have been filed for a new data center near Dallas, Texas. BT Gateway Data Center LLC has proposed a 100,000 sq ft (9,290 sqm) facility outside Royse City, with construction on the $384 million project scheduled to run from August 2026 to February 2027.

Royse City is a suburb of Dallas in Rockwall County, though the proposed data center site is located just across the border in Hunt County. BT Gateway Data Center LLC shares an address with renewable energy developer Belltown Power, which has more than 3GW of renewable projects in operation or development. Belltown announced plans for six Texas data center sites last year totaling 1.425GW, and now lists ten planned sites with a combined 4.1GW capacity, primarily focused around the Dallas–Fort Worth area.

Belltown has previously proposed a 1.5GW data center campus on a 900-acre site in Jewett, Leon County, known as Project Kahla. The development would include 500MW of behind-the-meter natural gas power and a 500MW grid connection. The company was also reportedly considering a data center project in Quinlan, Hunt County, but withdrew the application earlier this year, according to a local opposition group.BT_Gatewat_Royse_City_TX.width-358.webp
