PowerHouse Files Plans for 300MW Data Center Campus Near Dallas-Fort Worth

PowerHouse Data Centers is planning a new campus near Fort Worth, Texas. First reported by NBC, engineering firm Kimley-Horn has filed plans for a data center on about 88 acres in Westlake, north of Fort Worth. The proposed site is at 13580 Denton Highway, near US Highway 377 and Westport Parkway.

Known as the Circle T Data Center, the project could include four 300,000 sq ft (27,870 sqm) buildings with a combined capacity of 300MW. AREP and PowerHouse CEO Doug Fleit presented the plans to town officials this week. The first data center is permitted by right, while additional facilities require special-use approval. The planning and zoning commission has approved the plans. PowerHouse has also funded a 350MW Oncor substation to serve the campus and the town’s pump station.

“Our residents expect thoughtful planning, transparency, and a commitment to protecting what makes Westlake such a special place to call home,” said Westlake Mayor, Kim Greaves. “This project has been carefully evaluated to ensure it meets our high standards while providing meaningful long-term benefits for our community. The data center will expand our tax base, strengthen funding for public infrastructure and Westlake Academy, and help reduce the tax burden on our residents, all while having minimal impact on daily life.”

Founded in 2022, PowerHouse is a wholly owned division of American Real Estate Partners, with projects across eight US states and a reported pipeline exceeding 8GW. In Texas, the company recently topped out a 201MW data center in Irving and is developing a 768-acre campus with Provident Data Centers in Ellis County. It also appears set to develop on Tract-owned land near Austin.
