Former Bank Data Center To Be Redeveloped As Warehouse In Leicestershire, UK

Jul 14, 2026 | Posted by Abdul-Rahman Oladimeji

The former Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) data center in Kegworth, Leicestershire, has been demolished to make way for a new industrial warehouse development. Hobden Estates received approval to demolish the site in 2024 and has since submitted plans for a Class E commercial building with office space and parking.

The Leicestershire site, near Loughborough and Nottingham, is recommended for approval despite opposition from local residents and Kegworth Parish Council. Built in the 1970s, the former NatWest and RBS data center operated for more than 30 years before closing in 2021. The facility has since been demolished.

Cushman & Wakefield is marketing the proposed 161,500 sq ft (15,000 sqm) Packington Hill warehouse. The project is being developed by Hobden Group, a UK real estate developer, while another former RBS data center in Stafford was demolished around 2022.lg_34_232S2D00_11035f7b-488e-4d19-9719-f625e8a.width-358.jpg
