Cologix has announced the completion of its new 120 MW facility in Data Center Alley, Ashburn, Virginia. The three-story data center spans 455,000 sqft, and has already been pre-leased, to a tenant described as a 'major global technology company.'
According to reports, the Scalelogix ASH1 facility is now one of the largest data centers in the whole of North America.
Built on the site of a former Christian Fellowship Church, the facility is part of the company's plans to move toward building larger hyperscale campuses, enabled by a $ 3 billion recapitalisation two years ago.
The facility features a cooling system designed for maximum energy efficiency with free cooling capability, alongside hot aisle containment with up to 35 cabinets per row.
Speaking about this development, Cologix chief revenue officer Chris Heinrich said: "We're aggressively expanding our hyperscale Edge portfolio across North America in response to growing demand from major global cloud providers and large digital enterprises."
Adding: "With their massive scale and top-tier performance, our Scalelogix data centers provide high-speed, ultra-low latency, and highly secure access to fixed, 5G, and public cloud networks that today's businesses require for success."
