Cologix has announced that it is funneling further investment in its expansion to accelerate its growth, adding to the number of hyperscale edge data centers in its portfolio. Alongside this announcement, the company also published the new name of its hyperscale edge data centers, Scalelogix. According to the company, it plans to build three new ‘Scalelogix’ data centers, which will total 1M sqft, with a capacity of 200MW in North America.
Commenting on the company’s plans for expansion, Cologix Chief Executive Officer Bill Fathers, said: “As we support our customers’ growing businesses and continue to invest in the digital infrastructure that underpins the growth of the digital economy." Fathers added that the company intends to "aggressively expand" its hyperscale edge data center footprint.
Further to this, he said: “We will develop Scalelogix data centers in our current and new markets across North America to match customer demand. We’ve seen exponential growth in applications that need to be located at the very edge of fixed, 5G and public cloud networks and Scalelogix data centers are uniquely able to meet this demand in our markets.”
