Cologix started the construction of a new data center in Montréal, Canada. This week, the company revealed that construction has begun on its latest Scalelogix facility in Quebec. The MTL8 facility, located in Technoparc Montréal, will encompass 205,000 square feet and provide 21 megawatts of power. MTL8, currently being constructed by CML Construction and is expected to be completed by mid-2024, will utilize a renewable energy supply from Hydro-Québec.
Cologix has eleven data centers comprising approximately one million square feet in operation or development in the Montreal area. Last year, the company introduced its new Scalelogix hyperscale brand, revamping three of its facilities in Columbus, Ohio, and Montreal and unveiling three more in Ashburn, Virginia, Columbus, Ohio, and Silicon Valley, California. It later announced that a second Scalelogix facility would be constructed in Toronto in collaboration with CIM Group. With a combined 300,000 square feet and 60 MW, MTL9 and 10 are also in Montreal and are identified by the Scalogix brand.
Francesca Mancini, vice president and partner of CML Construction, stated they are thrilled to have been selected to construct this LEED Gold-certified data center in the Technoparc of Ville Saint-Laurent.
