WHP: La Grange, KY

After facing local opposition, Western Hospitality Partners (WHP) has scrapped its original "Project Lincoln" data center plan and proposed a new, smaller version.

The revised plan relocates the project to the site of the Sauerbeck Drive-in theater at 3210 DW Griffith Lane. Instead of the original eight-building campus totaling 2.5 million square feet, the new proposal is for just two buildings covering 312,000 square feet. This change also significantly reduces the estimated investment from $6 billion to about $1.5 billion.

The new location is considered more suitable because it's in an area already zoned for industrial use, positioned between a railroad track, Interstate 71, and a power plant. WHP has filed an application for a Conditional Use Permit for the development, and the current tenant, the Sauerbeck Drive-in, is expected to move.
